In the late 1990's a group from Cornerstone Lutheran Church (then Carmel Lutheran) saw the need for a church in the developments on the northern Westfield/Noblesville border. In 2000, led by pastor Tim Krupski, they chartered as a new congregation called Lord of Life. The church plant purchased acreage in a field between 191st and 186th street off Shady Nook Road.
By 2010, Lord of Life had moved into their fully built facility as developers started building neighborhoods in the surrounding fields. In 2020, Lord of Life called Ethan Spira to serve as their second pastor as God brought them into a new season of ministry.
A lot has changed since Lord of Life's first worship service in a warehouse on 32. Yet through the decades, God has provided a well of Christ's peace in the middle of this field. As the church campus now sits surrounded by neighbors, it remains an open green space for individuals and families of all ages.
At Lord of Life, we preach Christ crucified, proclaim grace and mercy over sin, baptize in God's name, help the poor and those in need, and unashamedly teach the Gospel. These don't make us unique, but rather demonstrate our participation in the larger body of Christ.
Lord Life also believes that "church" happens seven days a week and well beyond the sanctuary walls. This is why all of the ministries done at Lord of Life involve the whole family with opportunities to bring faith home. Through unified ministry plans, generationally integrated worship, active small groups and an intentional focus on mentoring, the vision God has provided Lord of Life is accomplished.
Throughout the week you'll see people and families coming and going from the church campus for youth group chilling, Montessori preschool learning, homeschool co-op classes, board meetings, band practice, drone flying, free throw shooting, wheelie popping, sidewalk chalking, and sometimes even ice cream trucking.
Uniquely surrounded by neighborhoods, Lord of Life also partners with local Homeowners Associations in order to provide safe outdoor space and inviting indoor facilities. Local neighborhoods can schedule their annual meetings free of charge. Lord of Life also sits on the board for Andover North HOA, allowing them to partner with the neighborhood on keeping the playground safe, the sports field maintained, and the walking trails ready for everything from four legs to two wheels.
It means we understand the Bible in the same way as the 16th century German church leader named Martin Luther. He revolutionized the Church by translating the Bible into the common language of the people and taught that all people have access to God's love and forgiveness through Jesus! Today, we too believe that God's word is for all people and that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone!
We are part of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. To learn more about the LCMS, visit the Synod's website. www.lcms.org
We believe in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as confessed in the Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.
We believe the Bible is God's inerrant word, unified across time for the purpose of pointing us to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that we may have life in His name.
We believe all of humanity lives in an inherited state of sin as well as succumbs to wrong and sinful actions.
We believe that no person can repair or restore the damage sin has done to our relationship with the God of life.
We believe that it is only by God's gift of forgiveness at the expense of Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection on Easter that our sin is atoned for. This exchange of our sin for Jesus' right standing with God is what we call grace.
We believe that baptism is the work of Jesus through the Holy Spirit bringing about new life in a person and adoption into God's family.
We believe communion (also called The Lord's Supper) is a sacred meal given by Jesus to give forgiveness and strength to weary sinners who confess their need for His shed body and blood on our behalf.
We believe that Jesus will come again to resurrect His people and all creation into the New Heaven and New Earth. In this New Creation, or Heaven, we will live forever in peace and union with our God.
